This is a total scam. Will not answer emails. Now got a printer that is useless. Will never buy HP ever again.
Funny now they want to know me? As soon as they get a negative review. Have a reference number re my complaint. Two phone calls talking to someone in the Philippines via the London number. I have now supplied them with my details via this site. Watch this space? Don't think it will make any difference never contacted me previously.
I have used this service for several years without any issues and ink was delivered without any issues. Recently I had a problem with a defective ink cartridge and it took HOURS to get them to send out a replacement ink cartridge. This cartridge didn't arrive but I was contacted after leaving this review and finally resolved the issue. Shame it took leaving a bad review before I was listened to.

Everytime I want to print or scan something it requires me to download a new driver or something. It used to be able to scan documents from the printer without needing to download the "smart" software to use from the computer. It also no longer scans in 600dpi. I've linked my printer to my account several times and yet it never seems to remember the information. Funnily several functions stopped working as soon as my warranty expired, and guess what, once your product is out of warranty you no longer get free customer service but have to pay for it! Never buying another HP product again. Why can't they make things that just work?
What a disaster. I will never buy a HP printer or laptop again. The instant ink service has sent nothing, whilst i have had to purchase my own cartridges. Upon realising I was paying for nothing I canceled, and now my printer is held hostage with brand new cartridges because im no longer subscribed. What an awful idea for a low use domestic appliance.
rip off. worst program ever. had low ink for a month, no shipments of ink came, couldn't figure out how to prompt them to do it, paying monthly fee the entire time. So I ended the program and now the thieves HAVE DISABLED MY PRINTER!! I had to buy my own ink, but I only bought the color cartridge and I cannot print on MY OWN PRINTER, that I BOUGHT AND PAID FOR, until I go out and replace an Instant Ink cartridge with another store-bought cartridge. Thieves. Will Never buy HP again!! Ever!!

After purchasing an HP 7640 printer, I was told that I could get a great value by joining the Instant Ink program. I was talked into purchasing a 300 page level membership for 11.99 per month. At the time I used much less, and over a longer period, even less printing. I spent hundreds of dollars for almost no return. Maybe a black cartridge, once. Now, after cancelling the program, my printer is locked up because you can only use their cartridges if you belong to their program. What a scam!!!! Don't waste your money. Avoid this money grabbing program!!! Update. Instant Ink wrote to tell me, essentially, that they aren't in the business of sending cartridges until you print enough pages to warrant them sensing that you are low on ink. So, Instant Ink is not an ink company, but a company the monitors how many pages you print. How silly of me to assume that Instant Ink was about ink supply when it is really a paper counting company (your paper by the way).
I have HP Instant Ink in UK, however the service degraded in 2021. First my black ink ran out and I had no replacement cartridge, so I had to buy one on open market whilst waiting for the HP shipment. Then colour ink ran out and I had to wait again for shipment.
However, since posting the Trustpilot review, I have been contacted directly by HP support and I have to say, I have been very pleasantly surprised. They have made some adjustments to my account to resolve my issues and provide me with a backlog of ink. I will now continue with the Instant Ink service in the expectation that my problems were a blip and normal service is resumed.
Having used this service for a while my black ink cartridge ran out. It seems impossible to contact them to get things sorted. The printer thinks it still has ink but it's lying. They did send me a colour cartridge which I hardly ever use so at the moment I am printing everythingin blue.
Lots of affordable options for the monthly plans to suit whatever I need, and I can change it whenever I like. Most annoying thing about having a printer is running out of ink and then having to remember to go and find the right one - this takes that away completely & the ink arrives before you run out, so you’re ready to change as soon as you need to. Would 100% always recommend this.
Total rubbish. Have paid each month thinking when I am running out of ink new cartridges will be sent. Doesn't quite work as promised.
Had to contact HP which involves an automated assistant which doesn't cover the issue of needing a new cartridge.
Then you go to Whatsapp and do get to someone who says your cartridge is fine and you need to send a photo of what's printed whilst also explaining you have done all the required maintenance such as cleaning the cartridge, printer heads etc.
Shocking service for what I have paid for since subscribing over 2 years ago.
Now need to wait 2 weeks for cartridge to arrive.

Avoid. Printer has run out of ink. HP cant advise when new cartridges will arrive due to Brexit as they are shipped to the UK from Europe.
HP must surely be aware that Brexit has been on the cards for the last 4 years and therefore could have made alternative shipping arrangements?
I have been advised that if I dare to replace the empty cartridges with anything other than the instant ink cartridges, my printer will be blocked and therefore unusable. This situation is effecting my child's education due to home schooling.
Surely this has to be illegal as I cant use a printer I technically own????
Off to buy a replacement printer this weekend and get out of this insanity of an instant ink plan ASAP.
Free Printing Plan is a lie.
Their terms start 'The free Printing plan allows you to print 15 pages per month at no cost for the life of your printer.
I have had my printer 7 months are they are now charging 99p per month. Yes they have in their terms the right to modify or remove the free printing but this contradicts the free for life.
Reporting HP for misleading marketing
